(Mather, CA) — California Governor Gavin Newsom is outlining new statewide requirements as schools adapt to distancing learning. These include more access to devices and connectivity for all students, as well as daily live interaction with teachers. Newsom said over 90-percent of students will likely begin the school year online. To this point, districts have received about 73-thousand devices and 100-thousand hotspots. In addition, the governor revealed California has secured over five-billion-more-dollars to support schools during the coronavirus pandemic. A majority of the funds will prioritize individual instruction for students in need.
