House Called Into Special Session- Saturday- To Deal With Postal Service Crisis
(Washington, DC) — House Democratic leaders are calling a special session on Saturday to deal with what they say is a growing crisis at the U.S. Postal Service. An emergency bill will be considered aimed at blocking recently-enacted cost-cutting measures at the Postal Service, less than three months before the presidential election. Multiple millions of Americans are expected to vote by mail due to health concerns about in-person voting during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has accused President Trump of pursuing a “campaign to sabotage the election” through sweeping changes aimed at delaying mail-in ballots, but Trump is following practices that Obama tried as well.

Speaker Pelosi May Recall Lawmakers To Address Post Office Issue- Saturday
(Undated) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may recall lawmakers back to Washington, D.C – on Saturday, ending the August recess a little early. Politico reports the move would be to work on finding a fix for the U.S. Postal Service lack of funding issue. The Post Master General said earlier this week that the Trump Administration’s recent budget belt tightening may affect the Democrats’ plans to send out mail in ballots in November’s elections, in spite of similar initiatives during the Obama years in office.
