The business meeting of the Republican National Convention are underway in Charlotte, ahead of day one of the convention on Monday. Six delegates from each state and territory will arrive over the weekend in Charlotte’s uptown area. While the event is scaled back due to coronavirus concerns, security measures are in place and police are planning for potential protests. Local business owners are hopeful for potentially bigger crowds than what has become the norm, but aren’t expecting anything near the economic impact a full convention would’ve brought to the city.
