> CA Homes Surge Nearly 29 Percent
(Los Angeles, CA) — Five months into the coronavirus pandemic, California home sales are rebounding. The California Association of Realtors says July sales of existing, single-family homes shot up by almost 29 percent from June. In addition, last month’s home sales were up almost six-and-a-half percent compared to July of last year. C.A.R. figures show that almost 438-thousand houses changed hands last month, the first time sales have topped the 400-thousand mark since February, before the COVID-19 crisis kicked in. Association President Jeanne Radsick credits “strong, pent-up demand” and “record low interest rates.”
