Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden says he is ready and willing to debate President Trump this fall. Biden was interviewed by MSNBC and said his campaign is following the guidelines from the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates. The former VP was asked about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s suggestion that there be no debates. Pelosi predicted that President Trump will probably act in a way that is “beneath the dignity of the presidency.” She argued that Trump “does that every day.” Biden said he expects to be a fact-checker during the debates, arguing that the President has a “somewhat pathological tendency not to tell the truth.”. Some pundits maintain that Biden will find a way to avoid debating Trump.
