(Los Angeles, CA) — The LA-based nutritional supplement company Herbalife is being forced to pay more than 100 million dollars to settle criminal bribery charges in New York. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York says Herbalife bribed Chinese government officials over a ten-year period in a bid to expand its market share there by obtaining licenses to sell its products. The SDNY says the company has also agreed to pay a separate fine of more than 67-million-dollars to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
