First-time unemployment claims were unchanged last week. The Labor Department reports 884-thousand Americans filed initial claims for benefits last week. That’s the same as the previous week’s revised total. This is the second straight week claims have been below one-million. States with the biggest increases in claims were in California, Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Missouri. The biggest decreases were in Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
