(Washington, DC) — Iran is reportedly considering an assassination plot as revenge for the U.S. killing of a top general. Politico reports the Iranian government is targeting the U.S. ambassador to South Africa as one of several options to hit back for the drone strike that killed Qassem Soleimani in January. The ambassador has reportedly been told of the threat. Iran launched a ballistic missile attack against U.S. forces in Iraq days after Soleimani’s death.
