Los Angeles County’s public health director says they won’t authorize any more businesses to reopen until at least the end of the month. Barbara Ferrer, who is not a medical doctor, wants to make sure that the  recent Labor Day holiday weekend doesn’t cause the same spike in COVID-19 cases that were seen after the Fourth of July and Memorial Day weekends. Ferrer will allow 25 to 30 schools to reopen next week. But only for small groups of  with individualized learning plans, students learning English as a second language and special needs students.
