(Sacramento, CA) — California is set to develop a plan for granting reparations to Black Americans. Under a new law, a nine-member task force will create proposals for how the state could provide reparations to Black Americans, what form those reparations might take and who would be eligible to receive them. The task force must report to the California legislature a year after its first meeting. This may come in mid-2021.
