(Washington, DC) — Dr. Anthony Fauci [[ FOW-chee ]] says there is a “reasonably good chance” that Regeneron’s antibody cocktail that President Trump received to treat his COVID-19 diagnosis made a significant difference. Speaking on MSNBC, Dr. Fauci said he has not been directly involved in the President’s care, but he says Trump “certainly looks good and apparently feels good.” In a video posted Wednesday, President Trump claimed that he views the Regeneron therapeutic as a cure. Dr. Fauci says he is just one person and therapeutics have to undergo extensive clinical trials before it can be deemed a cure.
Fauci says with the short history of this virus an infected person can look and feel good but have a downturn after a couple of days. He says the President looks good and he does not believe that will happen. Dr. Fauci cited the CDC guidance that a person will no longer be contagious ten days from the onset of the disease, adding that two negative PCR coronavirus tests should be negative 24 hours apart.
