The replacement events for the canceled presidential debate are over. Both President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden held dueling town halls on different networks and in different cities. Trump spent a healthy portion discussing the coronavirus and the upcoming election on NBC in Miami. He also was hectored by an argumentative moderator Savannah Guthrie over wearing masks and the repeatedly asked and answered question about white supremacy. Meanwhile GMA host George Stephanopolos predictably tossed softballs in Philadelphia, Biden covered a number of subjects on ABC, including fracking – about which Biden continued to change his positions, the Supreme Court and the 1994 crime bill. Biden said one of his biggest goals would be to unify the country if he wins next month.
