Santa Canceled: Won’t Greet Visitors At Macy’s NYC Flagahip, More

(New York, NY) — For the first time in nearly 160 years, Santa Claus is not greeting visitors at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City this holiday season. Store officials say due to the pandemic, it’s hard making a safe environment for kids and their families. More than a quarter-of-a-million people come to Macy’s each year to take pictures with Santa in the store’s maze-like Santaland. In addition, Santa won’t be showing up in Macy’s stores in Chicago and San Francisco. However, he will be appearing at the end of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, which has been shortened and won’t have crowds watching.
