(Sutter County, CA) — A California Superior Court judge has tentatively ruled that Governor Gavin Newsom overstepped his authority when he unilaterally made changes to state law in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The suit brought by Republican Assemblymen James Gallagher and Kevin Kiley places a permanent injunction on the Governor making such decisions moving forward. The lawmakers say that they do believe actions are necessary to keep people safe during health emergencies, but not at the expense of a free society by putting all the power in the hands of one man. The Court\’s decision does not impact any of the protocols put in place for the 2020 General Election.
