Pelosi Signs Article Of Impeachment

(Washington, DC) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is signing the article of impeachment accusing President Trump of inciting the violent protest on Capitol Hill last week. The House voted earlier to impeach Trump, making him the first President in history to be impeached twice. Pelosi explained it was done in a bipartisan way and shows “no one is above the law.” Ten Republicans joined all Democrats in voting to impeach.

McConnell Issues Statement After Trump’s 2nd Impeachment

(Washington, DC) — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wants to focus on getting President-elect Joe Biden into the White House. In a statement after President Trump was impeached again, McConnell said he believes it would be best if Congress prioritized the inauguration and transfer of power to the Biden administration. He argued it’d be impossible to hold a “fair or serious” Senate trial for Trump before next Wednesday. The Kentucky Republican cited the three previous impeachment trials, which all lasted at least 21 days.

GOP Rice Votes To Impeach President Trump

(Washington, DC) — South Carolina Congressman Tom Rice is one of ten House Republicans who just voted to impeach President Trump for a second time. It was a surprise move, sparking outrage in his seventh Congressional District where support for Trump is high. After the vote, Rice released a statement saying he’s backed Trump for four years “but this utter failure is inexcusable.” Only one other state lawmaker voted yes. The remaining Representatives, all GOP, voted no.
