Still No “Crisis” But Pomona Fairplex To House Migrant Kids

(Pomona, CA) — The L.A. County Fairplex in Pomona is expected to temporarily house 25-hundred unaccompanied migrant children in a matter of days. County Supervisor Hilda Solis says, “The ultimate goal is to ensure these young people are transitioned out of the Fairplex and either reunited with their families…in the United States or with a loving sponsor who can care for them.” County and Fairplex officials are making preparations for children between the ages of 12-to-17 to arrive. The Fairplex becomes the second site in Los Angeles County to temporarily house unaccompanied minors arriving at the U.S. Mexico border. The first was the Long Beach Convention Center.
