Here It Comes: Orange County, California Launching Vaccine Passport Pilot Program

By

(Santa Ana, CA) — Orange County is planning to test a digital vaccine passport program in the coming days. The passport would verify that people are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19, allowing them to attend more crowded events like conferences, concerts, school and live sports without putting themselves at risk. It’s unclear how the digital passport would verify if people are actually vaccinated. But, Orange County Public Health Officer Dr. Clayton Chau says people who used the county’s appointment scheduling website could access the website again to show proof they’ve gotten their shots. Nearly 600-thousand O.C. residents are fully-vaccinated so far.
