(Washington, DC) — The Biden administration is adding tens-of-thousands of new seasonal worker visas with a large number reserved for Central Americans. The Department of Homeland Security will add 22-thousand visas, while saving six-thousand for nationals from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. The visas give temporary legal status to non-agriculture seasonal workers in restaurants and hotels, as well as other areas like landscaping. This comes after DHS officials said employers throughout the U.S. reported critical vacancies and expressed need for temporary guest workers.
