(New York, NY) — The NBA and Player’s Association say it appears justice has been served for George Floyd. The two sides released a joint statement after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of killing Floyd last year. They said “Floyd’s murder was a flash point” for how race and justice is looked at in America. The statement noted more work needs to be done and they will increase their efforts to advocate for change in criminal justice and policing. Lakers star LeBron James simply tweeted “accountability” in all caps.
