(Minneapolis, MN) — Three former Minneapolis officers charged in George Floyd’s death will go on trial next year. Jury selection in the trial of Tou Thao, J. Alexander Kueng, and Thomas Lane will start March 8th of next year. Opening statements are set for March 28th. All three are facing aiding and abetting charges in Floyd’s death that happened just over a year ago. That’s when former officer Derek Chauvin held his knee on Floyd’s neck for several minutes. Chauvin was convicted of murder and manslaughter charges earlier this year. He’ll be sentenced in about two weeks.
