The state could hold 500 recall elections for the price of the Governor’s train to nowhere.

(Sacramento, CA) — California’s budget is going to take a hit of more than 200-million-dollars to fund the special recall election of Governor Gavin Newsom. The state’s Department of Finance says the 215-million-dollars is based on estimates from elections officials across all 58 counties. Officials say there may be additional costs through the Secretary of State’s Office that have yet to be determined. For comparison, the so-called high speed train project is currently estimated at a cost of $100,000,000,000 – 100 BILLION dollars.
