(Miami, FL) — People in Florida with non-violent COVID related offenses, like masks and social distancing, are being pardoned. Republican Governor Ron DeSantis says it’s a necessary step toward recovery. The Republican also claimed that many of the COVID crackdowns were “way, way overboard.” DeSantis says he needs to shield some people from local government overreach. Gym owner Mike Carnevale, who was arrested three times for refusing to enforce Broward County’s mask mandate, was singled out by Governor DeSantis.
