(Washington, DC) — President Biden says the U.S. military mission in Afghanistan will conclude on August 31st. Speaking at the White House, Biden said the U.S. will continue to provide funding and equipment to Afghan security forces, as well as civilian and humanitarian assistance. He said troops achieved their objectives when they were deployed there after the September 11th terrorist attacks, including the death of Osama Bin Laden. President Biden had previously said the mission would end on September 11th, for which he received much criticism.
