(Sacramento, CA) — Applications to drill for oil or mine for gas in California are seeing a dramatic decrease. Approvals by the state for oil well extraction fell by 64-percent since the start of the year. There’s also been a 52-percent drop in applications from fossil fuel and natural gas companies for permits. Newsom recently announced that the state would end fracking in three years, and in 2035, new gas-powered vehicles will no longer be sold in California.
