Judge Says Recall Can Be Tied To Trump Supporters
(Sacramento, CA) — A California judge says the Newsom campaign can link Donald Trump’s supporters to the recall effort. Superior Court Judge Laurie Earl ruled in favor of Governor Gavin Newsom after two recall proponents challenged language in the voter guide that described the recall as an “attempt by national Republicans and Trump supporters” to grab power. Orrin Heatlie and Mike Netter said in their lawsuit that the description was untrue because not all recall supporters are Republicans. Judge Earl said exaggerations are common in political campaigns and “thus permissible.”
