(Beverly Hills, CA) — The actress who portrayed public defender Christine Sullivan on the 80s sitcom “Night Court” has died. Markie Post passed away Saturday following a four-year battle with cancer. She was 70. The Palo Alto native began her career working behind the scenes on TV game shows such as the Goodson-Todman programs “Card Sharks” and “Double Dare” — a short-lived series hosted by Alex Trebek. After gaining fame on “Night Court” — Post would appear as a guest celebrity on several game shows including “The $100,000 Pyramid.” Markie also had starring roles on the TV series “Hearts Afire” and “Fall Guy.” She was also featured in the big-screen movies “Something About Mary” and “Four Christmases and a Wedding.” She leaves behind a husband and two daughters.
