(Cupertino, CA) — Apple is updating its software for iPhones to squash a potent spyware. Reports say iPhones have been vulnerable to a program thought to be developed by an Israeli company. The spyware was used in the iPhone’s message feature and allegedly used to spy on journalists and human rights advocates in multiple countries. The emergency software update was issued Monday, a day ahead of Apple’s expected announcement about a new iPhone.
