Murders Rise Nearly 30 Percent Nationwide Last Year Amid Foolish Defund Police Movement

(Undated) — FBI data shows murders across the U.S. rose by nearly 30 percent in 2020. The data for its annual report on crime shows killings were up about 29 percent, the biggest rise since national record-keeping began in 1960. Despite the increase, murders are still at about one-third of the level they were in the early 1990s. While the reasons why killings increased that dramatically is unknown, some contributing factors could be stresses from the pandemic, distrust between police and the public after George Floyd’s murder, and increased firearm carrying.
