LAPD Creating Special Task Force To Investigate Follow-Home Robberies

(Los Angeles, CA) — The Los Angeles Police Department is creating a task force to investigate follow-home robberies. This decision comes after a deadly shooting in Hollywood that police believe was a follow-away robbery. These are crimes where thieves target victims they see in public and follow them to a secondary location to rob from them. Earlier this month, a couple was followed 50 miles from a Hollywood bar to their home where they were held at gunpoint. The Robbery Homicide Follow-Home Robbery Task Force will have more than 20 detectives. The task force will work to identify responsible individuals and bring them before the criminal justice system, according to Chief Michael Moore. This is the latest incarnation of criminals run rampant following defunding the Police, letting criminals out of jail and no bail policies.
