(Washington, DC) — White House economist Brian Deese is insisting that the overall U.S. economy is moving in the right direction. The comment came on the same day as another boost in the Consumer Price Index, a key indicator of inflation. Deese told reporters that inflation is a global problem during the ongoing COVID pandemic. He noted that some economic impacts of the pandemic were unanticipated.
The latest Quinnipiac Poll shows Biden continuing his free fall, with approval now at 33%. The new York Post reports:
Three-quarters of Democrats said they approve of Biden, while just 25 percent of independents and 2 percent of Republicans said the same. A plurality (49 percent) say the president is doing more to divide the country, while only 42 percent said he’s working to unite it — undercutting a key theme of Biden’s successful 2020 presidential campaign.
