(Washington, DC) — Cruise lines will no longer have to follow CDC guidelines starting this weekend. The CDC’s guidance for vessels operating in U.S. waters will expire on Saturday, at which point the guidelines will become optional. The agency says it’s switching to a voluntary COVID “risk mitigation” program, which includes recommendations for cruise ships to help foster a safe environment for their passengers and crews.
