(Austin, TX) — Texas Governor Greg Abbott wants to shut down the social media site Tik Tok. He says it’s being used by the cartels to facilitate the smuggling of illegal immigrants. He says state troopers have seen a string of posts on TikTok, where cartels are offering big bucks to those who help move migrants into the country. DPS Director Steve McCraw says they’re catching kids from across the state, who come to South Texas, and work as drivers. Governor Greg Abbott says cartels are using the social media site the recruit kids to be their drivers, and help smuggle illegal immigrants Governor Greg Abbott says there is precedent, pointing to the legal action that took down the website Backpage for facilitating prostitution.
