(Undated) — A new study is showing how many years of life teens have lost because of unintentional drug overdoses. The study published in JAMA Pediatrics says the U.S. may have lost about 200-thousand years of life in the teens and pre-teens that died between 2015 and 2019. If including those up to age 24, the number of years lost skyrockets to one-and-a-quarter million years. The National Institutes of Health says the number of young people dying from unintentional overdoses have been on the rise in recent years, and the reasons for that could be mental health issues, unstable house, and other factors.
