The White House is criticizing a bill in Florida that would bar discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity in the state’s elementary schools. In a briefing Tuesday, Press Secretary Jen Psaki said parents hope our leaders will protect kids safety and freedom, but “today, conservative politicians in Florida rejected those basic values.” When asked why the administration was taking a stance, Psaki said the White House feels it is important to speak out against the measure in the Sunshine State.
