(San Francisco, CA) — Eight out of nine Bay Area counties are lifting their mask mandate for vaccinated folks next week. Starting on February 16, those who are fully vaccinated in San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties will no longer have to wear masks in most indoor settings. Masks will still be required for unvaccinated people and in schools, on public transit, and in some hospital settings. The only Bay Area region that will not be lifting its mask mandate is Santa Clara County, where health officials say the coronavirus numbers are “still a bit high.”
