FedEx, UPS Stop Shipments Into Russia

(Undated) — FedEx and UPS are suspending shipments into Russia over the country’s invasion of Ukraine. The U.S.-based shipping companies had already cut off shipments to and from Ukraine and now have both stopped bringing shipments into Russia. UPS said packages headed to either country will be returned free of charge to the sender if it is possible. FedEX said they are closely watching the situation and have “contingency plans in place.” UPS said on its website their focus remains “on the safety of our people.”

(London) — British Petroleum says it is offloading almost 20-percent of its stake in a Russian owned oil firm. The oil giant made the announcement today as Russian’s invasion of Ukraine rages on. In statement on Sunday, BP said its board announced that it “will exit its shareholding in Rosneft.” The London-based company had been asked by the UK government to cut ties with the Russian firm following Moscow’s invasion of its neighbor. BP’s CEO said this is not only “the right thing to do” but is also in the “long-term interests of BP.”
