L.A. Mayor’s Ambassador Nomination Might Be Held By Senator
(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s nomination to be Ambassador to India might be in trouble. Politico reports that Republican Senator Charles Grassley is requesting a hold on his nomination. The Iowa Senator says whistleblowers have spoken to him about allegations involving Garcetti’s office and he wants an investigation. Several people insist the mayor knew about sexual harassment among his staff. Garcetti denied that at his Senate confirmation hearing. Now Grassley is suggesting that the mayor lied under oath. The White House says it stands behind Garcetti.
Politico is reporting that Sen. Chuck Grassley is looking into whether Garcetti lied to the Senate and under oath and has asked that Garcetti’s nomination as Ambassador to India be put on hold. Read more here:
