(Sacramento, CA) — High fuel prices in the state are also increasing gas theft in some California cities. On Tuesday in Sacramento County, thieves stole gas from a fleet of vehicles used by probation officers. While gas theft isn’t rampant yet, Triple-A says owners should take steps to protect their cars and trucks. Parking in garages or in areas that are well lit can deter crimes of opportunity.
