(Undated) — A new study shows that artificially sweetened drinks may help with weight and diabetes risks. Research published in JAMA Network Open revealed small reductions in risk factors when sugar-sweetened beverages are replaced with low- or no-calorie sweetened beverages. The new study adds to an ongoing debate about artificial sweeteners. A 2019 study showed drinking two or more artificially sweetened drinks was linked to increased risks for strokes, heart attacks and early death in women older than 50.
