(San Diego, CA) — Grocery store workers are debating a potential a strike across Southern California. A vote to authorize a future strike is happening among 47-thousand workers at more than 500 stores, including Ralphs, Vons, Pavilions and Albertsons. The United Food and Commercial Workers union says votes will be counted over several days, with the results expected on Sunday. If approved, this vote would not start a strike, but would authorize one. In the last contract talks for the deal that just expired March 7th, a strike was authorized, but not executed, and negotiations continued for two more months before a deal was eventually reached.
