(Dallas, TX) — Former President George W. Bush is offering his condolences to the family of Madeleine Albright. The former U.S. secretary of state passed away at the age of 84 from cancer. In a statement, Bush wrote of Albright’s story as a young girl fleeing Nazis during the Second World War to becoming the first female secretary of state in U.S. history under President Bill Clinton. The former President stated that he respected “her love of country and public service” and was “grateful” to call Albright a friend. Bush closed out the statement by offering sympathies to Albright’s daughters.
