(Washington, DC) — Tensions among Republicans and Democrats are running high as senators consider Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson. During Jackson’s confirmation hearing, Illinois Democrat Richard Durbin accused Texas Republican Ted Cruz of not allowing the federal judge to respond to his questions. Cruz complained that Jackson was not answering his questions about sentences in some sex crimes cases. Cruz also accused Durbin of cutting into his limited time and some have accused Durbin of refuting Republican postions. Durbin chairs the Judiciary Committee.
