(Los Angeles, CA) — The man accused of attacking comedian Dave Chappelle on stage is facing attempted murder charges for an unrelated incident. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is charging Isaiah Lee for allegedly stabbing his roommate back in December. It happened at a transitional housing facility and Lee is pleading not guilty. Chappelle was tackled while performing at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this month. The D-A declined to press criminal charges in that case, but the suspect faces misdemeanor charges from the L-A City Attorney. The D-A has recently faced criticism from Chappelle’s legal team who point out the suspect had a switchblade in his possession during the Hollywood Bowl attack–and is facing recall. The recall movement www.recalldageorgegascon.com says they have amassed 450,000 of the nearly 570,000 needed to get the recall on the ballot.
