Nearing The Southern Border: Biden, 1st Lady Will Visit Uvalde, Texas Sunday

(Washington, DC) — The President and First Lady Jill Biden will travel to Uvalde, Texas, on Sunday. That’s the site of this week’s deadly mass shooting at an elementary school. It is also a town not far from the southern border of the United States–a place that Biden has not visited recently, as it is beset by illegal immigration. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the Bidens will grieve with the community during this “devastating time.” She also called the tragedy horrific. The Bidens are set to meet with community leaders, religious leaders and the families of victims.
Jean-Pierre continued her divisive rhetoric, criticizing the NRA convention set for Houston at week’s end. Jean-Pierre said — without offering proof– the NRA represents the interests of the gun industry in “marketing weapons of war to young adults.” She added — insignificantly–there are more guns than people in the U.S.
