California Cities Banning Gas Stations
(Los Angeles, CA) — Leaders in Los Angeles are hoping to stop new gas stations from being developed. The city of Petaluma led the charge last year, inspiring four other cities in the Bay Area to do the same in an effort to combat climate change. Last year, LA City Councilman Paul Koretz proposed a ban on new gas stations but the motion hasn’t gained traction. He recently told the LA Times, that given Governor Gavin Newsom’s timeline to end the sale of gas vehicles by 2035, gas stations are a dying business.
