Does the Coachella Festival own any name that has ‘Chella’ in it?

(Washington DC) — Activists in the East Coast are applying to trademark their musical movement, but a major California music festival isn’t happy about it. Justin “Yaddiya” Johnson organized three “Long Live GoGo” protests in Washington DC in 2019 after residents of a new luxury apartment building temporarily succeeded in shutting off the speakers playing go-go outside a MetroPCS store. The protest-turned-community festival, dubbed “Moechella,” brought in over five-thousand people by the third night. Johnson filed to trademark the name Moechella last year, but Coachella founders were quick to challenge the application. Last month, lawyers for Coachella filed an amended notice of opposition, arguing the music festival has exclusive rights to both terms “Coachella” and “Chella,” and that Johnson’s use of “Moechella” would create a false association” between the two events. Johnson says destroying the name is a “clear attack on Black D.C. culture.”
