Governor DeSantis Suspends Hillsborough State Attorney
(Tampa, FL) — Governor Ron DeSantis is suspending Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren, effective immediately. In remarks in Tampa, the governor said Warren has flagrantly violated his oath and neglected his duty by following a policy of non-enforcement of the law.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister says privately, his deputies are frustrated with Warren. The governor has appointed Susan Lopez to serve on an interim basis. She’s most recently been serving as a judge on the Hillsborough County Court.
Former Tampa police chief Brian Dugan goes further, calling Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren a “fraud.”
