(Herndon, VA) — The average college student needs more than five years to graduate. A new report from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center finds that the average student doesn’t earn enough course credits per semester to graduate in four years. The Director of Equity in Research and Analytics at the Research Center suggested administrators at colleges should use these metrics to provide better support for students while they’re still enrolled. He noted that students fall behind financially as well by not completing college as soon as possible.
