“Haunted” Cecil Hotel May Become Housing For Homeless

(Los Angeles, CA) — The historic Cecil Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles may soon serve as housing for homeless people. Two L.A. city councilmembers introduced a motion that would start the process of offering vacant rooms at the hotel to homeless people on a permanent basis. The Cecil Hotel was converted into an affordable housing complex last December, but the program is not fairing well, only 73 of its 600 rooms are occupied. The Cecil has been the subject of many articles and TV pieces for the number of strange, sordid occurrences–and deaths there. Read more here:
