(Washington, DC) — Millions of Americans on Social Security could be in for the biggest cost of living adjustment in four decades. A new estimate by the Senior Citizens League projects an eight-point-seven percent increase based on the latest government inflation data. That would boost the average monthly retirement check by about 144-dollars in 2023. The Social Security Administration will officially announce the COLA adjustment in October.
